Steven Nashed Huffaker graduated from the UCLA Film Directing Program, where he took courses from Alexander Payne and James Franco, who became mentors. James Franco appeared in two of Steven’s short films, then asked him to direct a Lifetime movie he was producing, which became the network's most-viewed film of 2018.
